Oh to what extent I had hoped to have Half-Life 2 from now.

Oh to what extent I had hoped to have Half-Life 2 from now. But alas, the game has not quite get to out as I write this, and I am forced to fritter away my existence forward other games. Luckily for me I’ve got options, now and in the future

The Political Machine

Elated/devastated through the recent presidential election? Want to relive/rewrite the glorious/horrific result? This unassuming little strategy game brings all the magic...er, heartbreak...uh, unrelenting nausea of big-time politics to terrifying life. You can guide a real-life politician (or undivided you create) on a year-long campaign for president, raising wealth debating, and getting endorsements. The Political Machine can be incredibly dispiriting in a way with its spot-on re-creation of the unlovely nuts and bolts of campaigning, nevertheless it’s still chocolate-covered coconut crack if you have any interest in one as well as the other politics and strategy games.

Battlefield 2

EA’s vast multiplayer shooter takes the franchise disclosed of the past and into the not past nor future with all the goodies of recent warfare set in a series of sprawling maps. This time the designers are adding a heavy dose of persistence, tracking each player’s stats, medals, etc., all the better for you to stable international bragging rights. I’m happiest about the emphasis upon team play that rewards squads with bonuses for working together—is an finis to rampant jackassery finally in sight? We’ll know shortly enough.
